Michael Grubb

Chair

Michael owns and operates Specialist Auto Group and has been a TACC member since 1992.

He sits on the Bosch Car Service Council of Australia, has previously served on the VACC Board of Management, and is a member of the VACC Executive Board and the President of the Hobart Workers Club.

Specialist Auto Group has two service centre locations in Cambridge and Hobart City and incorporates the Opposite Lock 4WD parts and accessories franchise in Cambridge.

Kate Presnell

Vice-Chair

Kate Presnell owns and operates Kate Presnell Bodyworks in Launceston.

She is also a TACC Industry Policy Council representative and has previously served on the VACC Body Repair Division committee.

In 2022, she won the Paint & Panel Women in Collision award. Founded by Gary Presnell in 1981, Kate purchased the family business in 2023.

Mark Cooper

Executive Member

Mark has been involved in the automotive industry for over 40 years and owns and operates Cooper Group, which incorporates Cooper Automotive and Tassie 4×4, with centres in Mornington, North Hobart, Lindisfarne, Moonah, Hobart and Invermay.

He served as TACC Executive Committee Vice-Chair and became Chair of the Board for Capricorn Society in 2019.

Mark is also a Director of Capricorn Mutual Ltd.

Roger White

Executive Member

Having been in the automotive industry for four decades, Roger owns Specialist Car Centre, and has a joint venture, RACT AutoServe, with two workshops in Hobart, and one in Moonah and Launceston, employing up to 20 staff.

Roger started his career as an apprentice and has worked as a mechanic, service advisor, warranty clerk and workshop foreperson.

He enjoys motorsport and works on private mechanical projects in his spare time.

Peter Killick

Executive Member

After 33 years of working in senior management within the construction industry, Peter bought B Select in Moonah in 2016.

He has been a Director for Motorsports Tasmania since 2011 and served as Chair from 2013 to 2020. Peter has served the community through the Rotary Club of Kingston and is the founding Chair of the Baskerville Foundation and Baskerville Historics.

Peter has retired from Tarmac rally competition but competed in seven Targa Tasmania events, starting in 1999.

Gene Finn

Executive Member

An automotive industry veteran of 37 years, Gene is a panel beater who owns Finn’s Bodyworks in South Launceston, a business that employs 16 staff.

He has a desire to make a difference in the industry and is passionate about his family, travel, and health and fitness.

 

Jesse Carter

Executive Member

Jesse is the co-owner of Autotechnik in Hobart, an independent auto service and repair workshop specialising in German car brands. 

He trained in North Carolina and holds a USA ASE qualification in Auto Mechanics. He arrived in Tasmania 13 years ago and worked in Autotechnik before buying it in 2021.

Jesse is a keen diver and enjoys camping and the outdoors.

Matthew Allen

Executive Member

Matt owns North City Cars and Commercials in Hobart, a family-owned business operating in Tasmania for 36 years, with six staff.

He has worked in the automotive industry for 26 years, and originally came from a sports administration background.

His hobbies and interests include coaching the U18 Premier League North Hobart Cricket Club, and is the Assistant Senior Coach at the same club.

Rob Jenkyns

Executive Member

Rob owns Blackmans Bay Motors, where he employs seven staff.

He has been in the automotive industry for 19 years, and is a second-generation mechanic, concentrating on light vehicles.

Rob’s interests include dirt bike riding, fabrication, and building and modifying vehicles.
