Melbourne, 14 January – The Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC) today announced the appointment of Peter Jones as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective February 2025.
Mr Jones brings over 30 years of distinguished leadership experience in the automotive and finance industries to the role, including significant expertise in operational management, strategic innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
VACC President Craig Beruldsen said the appointment followed an extensive executive search process and marked an exciting new chapter for the organisation.
“Peter’s appointment demonstrates VACC’s commitment to strong industry leadership as we navigate a period of significant transformation in the automotive sector,” Mr Beruldsen said.
“His proven track record in driving organisational growth and deep understanding of both the automotive and finance sectors make him ideally suited to lead VACC into its next phase of development.”
Mr Jones joins VACC following a successful tenure as Managing Director of Nissan Financial Services Australia and New Zealand and of Nissan Casting Australia, where he led transformational growth initiatives and strengthened industry relationships.
Most recently serving as Board Chair of the Australian Finance Industry Association, Mr Jones played a pivotal role in industry development and regulatory engagement. In recognition of his contributions to the finance industry, he was inducted into the Australian Finance Industry Hall of Fame in 2024.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Jones said he was looking forward to leading VACC at this crucial time for the automotive industry.
“The automotive industry is experiencing unprecedented change, creating both challenges and opportunities for businesses across Victoria,” Mr Jones said.

Mr Jones is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds qualifications in Accounting, Economics, and Asian Studies.
